Coffee vs tea
Coffee beans costs about $10 for 250 grams. That's 4 cents a gram. Apparently one shot of coffee is about 7 grams of ground beans, so the average shot is about 28 cents worth of coffee.

Really expensive Earl Grey tea from T2 costs $22 for 250 grams, or 8.8 cents a gram. But you only need 2 grams per cup of tea, so a cup of delicious tea costs only 18 cents.

Conclusion: drink tea!

(Numbers obtained from the Internet and Kevin, a self-confessed coffee addict.)

hehe :)

I always hate how much it costs at cafes to buy tea. It's often the same price or more than a coffee and invariably it'll be a teabag. Booooo.

I try to justify this with the knowledge that I'll get at least two cups out of the pot they give me.

But if you can get $4 for dangling a teabag in a pot of water, then clearly I'm in the wrong job.

I dangle a teabag in a mug of water several times a day at a higher rate!

How much is it for a cup of hot water at a cafe? Carry your own tea bags around. If they charge money for hot water, carry your own Trangia stove around too.

Hooray, a fellow tea drinker. T2 isn't really that expensive when you consider the number of cups you can get out of a bag, and gosh all their teas smell so nice.

Having some French Earl Grey now. Do you have a favourite T2 tea?

I love their regular Earl Grey. They have a flavoured green tea called Sencha Quince which is really nice. I like their orange pekoe, too. There's a classy novelty one called Snow Dragon Jasmine which is unfolds in the cup. That's all the ones I can remember off the top of my head. :) What about you?
